Things are sort of patched up for the time being. He signed me up for some apartment locators on the web, and roomate searches also. There are actually half-way decent apartments close to Sharpstown. OK sized studios for $350 and a one bedroom for $400. The studio looked nice enough, I like my sleeping spaces small/enclosed though. It doesn't really matter what the place is like. Yeah, I'd PREFER to not have roaches/ants, yeah I'd PREFER to have things not falling apart but really it doesn't matter. I've lived in shit-holes before, I didn't get that used to the surroundings I'm in now. We talked it over and I told him I wasn't moving out until my AmeriCorps service is over. I'm not using up my two months of paid rent before I have a good chance of finding a job. I'll have some cash from the haunted house to fall back on. It'll be rough in the beginning because I'll have no furniture. You never see it along the sidewalks like you do in Columbus. Maybe I should start scouting the campus areas. Those Rice students prolly throw out some nice shit. Maybe we'll make that trip up north afterall to get some furniture off of my mom or other family members. (On a side note My step-mom called Thursday, I don't know why. Maybe my dad finally drank himself to death or something. She called my cell, which scares me cuz I can't remember ever giving out my cell phone number and a couple days before that someone found my diary by searching "nirvangel", my old email nickname, and that person's IP was untracable, AND I have my cell number posted here....) Anyway I don't think I'll be that hard off, like I said, I'm used to it. Once AC ends I can pay off OSU and get my transcripts to HCC. I'll start school in January, and even though I can't get any more student loans I would be able to get a loan and use my ed award to pay that off, essentially getting the ed award in cash. I'd get about two grand from that. I'll qualify for Pell grants and things like that. Also because I'm going to finish my degree in Education instead of French, I'll be up for more scholarships etc. There are lots of programs out there that'll pay off your student loans if you agree to teach there for a certain amount of time (Teach America for example). I'm not that worried about moving out, I was just freaking about having to move right now, not having a job and not being able to consentrate on fidning a job because I'm working two jobs right now.... Always remember to quit while you're ahead. |
