I went to see O'Malley's nurse practicioner on Tuesday. My shoulder has been hurting for a while but now my arm is completely numb. First it was just tingley. And at first the complete numbness was felt not in the arm/hand but around my ribs, where I took a hell of a stomping from Harlan, and had previous trama to them in car accidents... and it's also where one of the entries for the scopes for the tummy surgery was, and the scar was hurting. I called my pcp and they told me to call the surgeon first, wanting to rule out a blood clot. So the NP at O'Malley's office ruled that out and did some range of motion exercises and different grip tests and gave my shoulder some pokes and listened to it through the stethoscope and she said "off the record" that it sounded like rotator cuff damage. FUN. But, she said, the surgery has gotten easier for that now. It's outpatient and orthoscopic. I made an appointment with my pcp but ended up being 5-10 minutes late, and then I ahd to wait in line behind some guy who had to try 10 different credit cards and finally pay with a check in order to cover his co-pay... so then they told me I couldnt be seen, AFTER I signed in and sat in the waiting room 20 minutes. So I went to the ER. The did some more range of motion and grip exercises, tested reflexes and some other shit and they think it's nerve damage caused by a slipped disk in my neck. I havent felt anything bulging but today I did in the shoulder not the neck. I need to dig out my anatomy books for a better understanding of what's going on. The ER doc said that it's the same course of action for both so one way or another it'll get fixed. It's not gonna be quick though. I have to go back to the pcp for an eval, then they need to get me a referral to a specialist, a neurologist, who'll hook me up to electrodes and test out the nerve. It they figure it's the nerve then I'll need an MRI to look at the shoulder and neck to see what's pinching it. If the electrode tests are normal then it's not the nerve and it's a torn cuff and an MRI will tell them that too. Either-or it's not good. I see it being time consuming... a drawn out process.

On the bright side, they're not stingy with the scripts, which might end up helping with rent.... And though the shoulder pain sometimes gets me, the numbness isn't too terribly uncomfortable. It just sucks being minus an arm. It's like god said "Hmmm, she can handle full time school, full time work, single parenting a toddler, with increadibly low income... while cutting way down on drugs n alcohol... I know, let's see her do it with one hand tied behind her back!!! Muhahahaha!" no wonder why AP doesn't like you, stupid god. And damn right I'm gonna do it with one hand tied behind my back. I had a job interview in rochester on wednesday, and even minus an arm I still did 6986 on the data entry typing test, that keystrokes I guess for the 3 minute test, not sure what it equates out to. The first time through I got a 6200 something and she said I get another try and I said "there's always room to improve" while other people in the room on other comps were just getting the minimum req 6,000 and saying "nah, I think I'll keep my first score." one retard even came in wearing slippers, wtf! No I cant get no rental help, I bet that bitch was on full assistance! So I did really well, chit chatted with the lady doing the hiring while I was doing the app. She liked me a lot, agreed with some of the comments (slipper girl). She had written something on my test score sheet and flipped it over then gave me the app packet on top of the score sheet, all on a clip board. I peeked at what she wrote when she went out for a smoke aand it said "was early! well-dressed! nice!" and my name was high-lighted. Besides the piss test I would have to get govt security cuz we do med records for the govt and military. Maybe we'll figure out why I cant get on a plane w/o being "randomly selected" 50 times. They're doing apps through next week and then will take a week to sort through them. I'll call them late that 2nd week, around the 25th or 26th. I'm eager. They pay $10 an hour, then once you hit your quota you get paid "per piece", so the faster you type the better you get paid. ALSO they got good benefits and all that but the best benefit is that once I finish the training period I'll be able to work from home. AWESOME! Downside to that is that I would still have to be online through their network for the same hours I'll be at the office for training, those hours being 4pm-12:30 am. I figure that I'll drop Cass off at the sitters and then my mom will pick her up and hopefully drop her off to me at bedtime or sleep at my mom's and I'll have to go there in the morning or something. I'll figure it out. OK must go to work.....
